Mayor Kaladze: It is good Gori police violence was made public, and state acted without hesitation
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has stated that if there is anyone who should not be speaking out about the violence committed by police officers in Gori, it is the United National Movement.
According to him, the state reacted instantly to the incident with no hesitation.
“If there is anyone who should not be active and speaking on this topic, it is precisely the United National Movement, because we all remember what processes were taking place during their time in power, and what problems the Georgian people and, in general, the entire country faced.
As for this specific incident, of course, everything the public saw was very bad and very distressing to watch. However, another important point is that this was followed by an instant response from the state, confirming once again that we are all equal before the law,” Kakha Kaladze stated.
Furthermore, as he noted, it is a positive thing that the incident was made public.
“It is good that this incident was made public and was met with an appropriate response from the relevant authorities, which demonstrates that the state made a decision without any hesitation and acted instantly,” stated the Mayor of Tbilisi.
