Sulkhan Tamazashvili nominated for position of head of Autonomous Government of Adjara
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze nominated Sulkhan Tamazashvili for the position of Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara after Tornike Rizhvadze resigned earlier on Friday.
Kavelashvili said, “Sulkhan Tamazashvili has many years of experience working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including holding leadership positions, where he carried out his duties with dignity and success. I have recently awarded him the Order of Honor for his special contribution to strengthening legality and law enforcement.”
Kobakhidze stated that Sulkhan Tamazashvili has “all the qualities and skills to properly conduct his activities.”
“For years, he has served our state, our country with dignity. He is from Adjara, born and raised in Adjara, and, of course, his work in the position of Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara will be very important,” said the Prime Minister.
In his speech, Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted: “I was born and raised in Adjara. I will have the opportunity to use my many years of experience in public service for my people and my republic.”
