Sulkhan Tamazashvili appointed Interior Minister

Sulkhan Tamazashvili has been appointed as Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs.

The announcement was made during a briefing at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

Prior to this appointment, Tamazashvili served as Chairman of the Government of Adjara. He replaces Geka Geladze, who has been nominated for the position of Head of the State Security Service.

Geladze had been serving as Minister of Internal Affairs since May 28, 2025.
