Strong Georgia's Khazaradze: Business has power to strike, warn, or halt taxes, but it should be done in organized manner
Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Strong Georgia movement, praised the recent gathering of Georgian businessmen, highlighting their vital role in the country’s economic resilience.
Discussing the business community’s contribution to the national budget, Khazaradze stated, “These individuals built their success through hard work, and if the country and its budget are standing today, it is thanks to them.”
Khazaradze expressed satisfaction with the meeting’s organization and the emergence of concrete ideas for future discussions. He acknowledged the significant leverage that businesses possess, such as striking or halting payments, but emphasized the need for unity and careful coordination in such actions.
“Business holds significant leverage—it can strike, issue warning strikes, or even halt tax payments. But this must be done in an organized way. We cannot leave any company or its employees vulnerable to this system. Business represents the people and the sector that funds our police officers, who today do nothing when they witness the crime,” he added.
He urged those who have not yet spoken out to join the protest, stressing that the country’s future is at stake.
“There is little time left, and they have resorted to terror and violence,” he warned.
