Lelo's Khazaradze: I never hid anything, German Ambassador rented my wife’s property through agency
“I have never hidden anything. We discovered the property tax on my wife ourselves and contacted the relevant agency,” Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, told journalists.
He said the disputed property had been rented to the German ambassador through an agency and described the matter as straightforward.
“I have never hidden anything. We discovered my wife’s property tax ourselves and reported it to the relevant agency. Instead of verifying our findings with us, they launched a televised campaign led by the Chairman of Parliament and amplified by the so-called Prime Minister, who spent a month commenting on this tax misunderstanding. The matter is now settled: the amount was assessed, the fine determined, and we paid in advance. I was fined 2,000 GEL for an error on the declaration.
This looks like an attempt to cover up the millions stolen by Bidzina Ivanishvili’s ministers—funds kept at home and circulated among their circles. Property taken from the Georgian people is being redistributed among these clans, and they hope to hide it with a 2,000 GEL fine. They will not succeed. We will continue to fight; no one can intimidate me with the threat of prison,” he stated.
