State Minister meets with representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian-language media outlets

The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, recently met with the management and editorial staff of the Azerbaijani-language newspaper Gurjistan and the Armenian-language newspaper Vrastan.

During the meeting, the State Minister addressed Georgia’s policy on civic equality and integration, underscoring the strategic priority of ensuring access to media and information for ethnic minorities.

She emphasized the importance of keeping ethnic minority communities, especially adults with limited proficiency in the state language, well-informed about political, socio-economic, and cultural developments in Georgia and beyond. To address this issue, the government continues to support the publication of Vrastan and Gurjistan, which play a crucial role in promoting Georgia’s cultural diversity and enhancing civil integration.

Additionally, the State Minister presented the findings and recommendations of a study conducted by an independent research organization at the initiative of her office. These insights are expected to assist the editorial teams in aligning their activities more closely with the needs of their audiences.
