State Minister meets ICRC representative

The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, held a working meeting with Agnes Coutou, the Special Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Missing Persons.

According to the Office of the State Minister, Akhvlediani emphasized the critical importance of the humanitarian effort to locate individuals missing as a result of the armed conflicts of the 1990s and the August 2008 Russo-Georgian war, and the need to ensure the long-term sustainability of this process.

The parties reviewed the outcomes of their ongoing cooperation, including current developments in the program’s transformation based on the findings and recommendations of the ICRC’s strategic study. They also outlined concrete next steps aligned with key priorities.

Both sides expressed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to enhance the program’s effectiveness.
