President Kavelashvili meets Uzbek Foreign Minister

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov during the latter’s official visit to Georgia.

The meeting focused on existing relations between the two countries and future cooperation prospects. President Kavelashvili thanked the Uzbek Foreign Minister for his country’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Given the close political and economic relations, Georgia considers Uzbekistan not only as a significant and reliable partner, but also as a friendly state. We are ready to deepen bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and cultural directions and contribute to better utilization of the potential of the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions and creating greater prosperity for our countries,” President Kavelashvili stated.

During the meeting, the President noted that Georgia considers Uzbekistan “one of its most important” partners and expressed the country’s interest in cooperation regarding investment attraction.
