PM meets Georgia's newly-appointed Ambassadors to France and Egypt

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Irakli Kurashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the French Republic and Permanent Representative of Georgia to UNESCO, and Nikoloz Abkhazava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

According to the government’s administration, the Head of Government of Georgia congratulated the ambassadors on their appointments and wished them success in their future endeavours.

Irakli Kurashvili has 30 years of experience in diplomacy, having held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad. From 2023 to 2025, he served as Georgia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia; from 2017 to 2022 – to the Argentine Republic; and from 2012 to 2017 – to the Swiss Confederation. Between 2022 and 2023, he headed the Directorate General for European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Irakli Kurashvili holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Nikoloz Abkhazava has also served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the years. From 2012 to 2017, he was Georgia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and from 2017 to 2022, he served as Georgia’s Ambassador to Malaysia. He likewise holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
