PM: Investigation needed into MIA Head's actions on June 20 that caused harm to individuals

“An investigation must determine why the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs acted on June 20 in the manner that he did, which resulted in severe consequences for specific individuals,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Kobuleti.

According to the Head of Government, this was a regrettable event that required questions to be asked and an investigation to be conducted.

“We also had questions regarding this special operation. I have spoken about this topic multiple times, questioning why, for example, water cannons or gas were not used when a much softer response could have been possible against the anti-state assault carried out by the radical opposition against the parliament building at that time. All of this is of interest and requires investigation.
