“By discussing legitimacy, both Zourabichvili and the radical opposition highlight their own legitimacy issues. In contrast, legitimacy lies with the Georgian Dream and Mikheil Kavelashvili,” said Davit Matikashvili, a member of Georgian Dream.

According to Matikashvili, the real legitimacy problem is with Zourabichvili and the opposition.

“Over 1,120,000 voters indirectly supported the Georgian Dream and Mikheil Kavelashvili. In reality, the legitimacy issue rests with Zourabichvili and the radical opposition. As for Zourabichvili ‘s efforts to politicize New Year’s celebrations and the presidential inauguration, it is time for her to move on. She has ended her term in a regrettable manner, reinforcing the need for a president who is pro-Georgian, pro-state, and pro-national. Her actions, which led to the Constitutional Court’s impeachment decision, serve as a lesson.
