“The heroes of Shindisi showed us that Georgia is immortal. As for the actions of the then-government, Georgian Dream has never justified Russia’s actions,” Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili stated.

According to him, “Georgia defeated Russia on all disputed issues in the international arena.”

“We always acknowledge that Russia is an occupant, that Russia committed crimes and carried out genocide against Georgia. We do not blame the country for starting the war. Perhaps willingly or unwillingly, perhaps intentionally, we failed to protect ourselves, we failed to ensure that we acted as befits Georgia’s government. In this case, I am speaking about our predecessors, the then-government, who left unclear questions about why they acted as they did. I repeat once again, I will not get ahead of events, since I am Georgia’s President – let us wait for the final investigation,” Kavelashvili stated.
