Grigol Gogelia on the Law on Broadcasting

The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili is meeting the members of the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) to discuss amendments to the law on broadcasting.

As the chairman of the Board of Trustees of GPB Grigol Gogelia explained before the meeting, the President expressed his wish to meet with the Board of Trustees. According to him, the council members will answer all questions the President is interested in.

According to Gogelia, the Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster has already discussed the legislative package on broadcasting.

Six out of the nine members of the Board of Trustees are attending the meeting.

The President of Georgia met with members of the Executive Council of the Public Broadcaster several days ago regarding changes to the Law on Broadcasting. The president also met with representatives of media and non-governmental sector.

The Parliament of Georgia approved the legislative package on Broadcasting with the second hearing.
