Open competition announced for GPB’s Adjara TV and Radio Director position

The Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster has announced an open competition for the director position of Public Broadcaster Adjara Television and Radio.

According to competition requirements, the directorial candidate must be a Georgian citizen and a person of public recognition and trust. The candidate for the directorial position must hold a master’s degree or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of ten years’ professional experience. This includes at least three years in a managerial role and at least five years of experience in journalism, human rights advocacy, and/or academic or pedagogical fields. Applicants must present documents confirming these requirements.

The open competition will be conducted in two rounds. For the first round, candidates must submit, in addition to the required documents, an application (with contact details provided) addressed to the GPB Board of Trustees. The submission should also include a CV, a copy of an identity document, a motivation letter, a certificate confirming they are not under investigation or incarcerated, and a written statement confirming their familiarity with the conflict of interest provisions outlined in Article 23 of Georgia’s Law on Broadcasting.

Candidates for the directorial position must submit appropriately certified copies of their documents to the Georgian Public Broadcaster between August 13 and September 11, 2025, inclusive. Documents can be delivered in person to the following address: 31 Ana Politkovskaya Street, Tbilisi, or sent electronically as original copies via email to: [email protected].

Based on the study and selection of documentation submitted by candidates, those who advance to the second round will be identified. These candidates must submit their management vision for Public Broadcaster Adjara Television and Radio (no more than two pages) to [email protected].

Interviews will be held with candidates who advance to the second round. The date of the second round, as well as the results of the first and second rounds, will be announced separately by the Board of Trustees.

Additionally, the GPB’s Board of Trustees has approved voting procedures for identifying the Public Broadcaster Adjara Television and Radio director candidate.

It should be noted that the term of office of the current director of Public Broadcaster Adjara Television and Radio, Vladimir Tatishvili, expires in November this year.
