First Vice-Speaker: No funding for NGOs engaged in partisan activities

“If grants are given to NGOs that implement valuable and impactful projects for society, it’s not a bribe to buy their silence. That’s nonsense. Silence cannot be purchased,” said Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.

Volski made this statement in response to the government’s decision to create a fund to support public organization initiatives, which will require amendments to the Law on Grants.

“Of course, this funding will not be for NGOs involved in partisan activities, particularly those pushing the country towards war or revolutionary processes. No fund can support an organization that spreads lies.

This narrative has shifted after the new American administration uncovered numerous criminal acts in funding. Some people fail to recognize the global changes happening and continue plotting against their own country. The foundation will not finance events designed to train individuals in throwing Molotov cocktails,” Volski added.
