Fire-extinguishing works continue in Sakavre village

Fire-extinguishing works continue in Sakavre village of Gori Municipality. The works have resumed since early this morning.
Reportedly, the fire, which broke out on August 22, spread from the lower part of the forest. Three helicopters of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) are involved in the fire fighting operation. The 14 fire-fighting vehicles and about 250 firefighters and rescuers are mobilized on the spot.
According to the Emergency Situations Management Service, the situation is under control. A field headquarters is arranged at the disaster site to coordinate the ongoing works.
