Family of imprisoned Zaza Gakheladze not to join civil activists’ protest

The family of Zaza Gakhelade, a Georgian citizen illegally imprisoned by the occupation Tskhinvali regime, will not join the protest to be held by civil activists on Saturday at Skhvilo Fortress.

Zaza Gakheladze’s wife Irma Butkhuzi told the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) that the family will refrain to participate in any protest at this moment. She expects the information from the lawyer on February 14 to appeal against the Tskhinvali Court ruling.

The anti-occupation movement Power is in Unity will hold a protest march at Skhvilo Fortress, Kaspi Municipality of the Shida Kartli region on Saturday.

Participants of the march will demand the release of Georgian citizens illegally detained by the occupational Tskhinvali regime.

The occupied Tskhinvali Court sentenced the unlawfully detained Georgian citizen Zaza Gakheladze to 12 years and six months in prison on February 5.
