Amiran Gamkrelidze denies reports on far more increased COVID-19 cases

Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the National Center for Disease Control, denies reports that there are far more COVID-19 infected people in the country than known by official statistics.

According to him, there is a certain percentage of people who are not identified, however, with the help of the so-called fever centres, coronavirus detection rate has increased.

“We think a certain percentage is unidentified, but that’s not three, four times, five times more, which is said in society. But there is a real danger of rapid increase in the cases. That is why we call on the population to stay at home, ”said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
