Aleko Elisashvili admitted to Vivamed clinic, director Zurab Tchkaidze says
Zurab Tchkaidze, director of the Vivamed clinic, says that Aleko Elisashvili of the “Strong Georgia” party has been admitted to the facility.
As Tchkaidze pointed out, the examinations will determine whether Elisashvili will stay in the clinic.
Elisashvili was detained on counts of assault. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed accusations against Elisashvili for politically motivated persecution.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “The investigation revealed that on 2 December, Elisashvili attacked and physically assaulted A.B., a member of the political party ‘Georgian Dream’ due to political views.”
The offence is punished by up to three years in jail.
