Ahali's Gvaramia blames Gakharia's Party refusal for lack of clear position on local elections in resistance platform document
Nika Gvaramia, a member of the Coalition for Change, states that due to the refusal of the Gakharia – For Georgia party, the resistance platform document lacks clear statements on several fundamental issues, including participation in local self-government elections, which he considers unjustifiable.
According to Gvaramia, the Ahali party is ready to act in coordination with any pro-Western actor only with the stipulation that there will be no ambiguity or room for interpretation.
“The Ahali Party will always support coordination and unified action in the interests of Georgia. However, on the critical issue of complete non-cooperation with the regime, we maintain a firm stance: we refuse to participate in local self-government elections, we will not attend illegitimate commissions, and we unequivocally endorse a boycott of such actions. Furthermore, we refuse to sign the agreement due to the absence of clear statements on these matters. The president’s decision to omit these issues from the founding document of the resistance platform simply because one specific party (Gakharia for Georgia) refuses to acknowledge them is unjustifiable.
The Ahali party is ready to act in coordination with any pro-Western actor only with the stipulation that there will be no ambiguity and room for interpretation regarding political issues that could potentially become the basis for legitimizing Ivanishvili’s regime.
On this issue, other members of the Coalition for Change will make their own explanations regarding their positions,” Nika Gvaramia posted on social media.
