Republican Party: We must continue to discuss 6 negotiation points without red line

“Sadly, we have been in a political crisis for a long time, where the war of secret records has been underway. No one won in this fight and this is not right,” the opposition Republican Party member Khatuna Samnidze said on Sunday.

“It is a fact that state officials commissioned by Bera Ivanishvili perform specific tasks, directly related to organizing crime, punishing people, threatening, and many more. No one has hope that this will be investigated as one person rules the prosecutor’s office and all investigative bodies,” Samnidze said.

According to Samnidze, the ruling Georgian Dream party tries to disrupt the talks.

“Georgian Dream has been trying to create a situation that would lead negotiations to fail. It is clear that the only force that does not want to make concessions is the ruling team. Opposition parties should look at this situation with a cold mind and pragmatically. There is a very serious thing at stake, these are negotiations mediated by our European partners and we must continue to discuss those six negotiation points, without any red lines,” Samnidze said.

Earlier, TV Pirveli aired the story on Saturday about the conversation between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Head of Special State Protection Service of Georgia, Anzor Chubinidze, and Bera Ivanishvili.

The opposition parties demand the resignation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili following the story. They believe the conversation contains signs of a serious organized crime.
