Presumption that government will not change through elections not correct, opposition MP says

The presumption that the government will not change through elections and there is no sense in holding elections is not correct, said Khatuna Samnidze, an opposition MP.

Samnidze remarked on the statement of the “Girchi-More Freedom” party leader Zurab Japaridze who said: “We are ready for many things, including taking up buildings. This is not Bidzina’s building. It belongs to the people who gathered at Rustaveli. What is the problem with kicking out those who are there?”

According to Khatuna Samnidze, protests and manifesting are Constitutional forms of expression.

“However, the presumption that the government will not change through elections and we don’t want elections is incorrect. I do not agree. This government will leave through the elections with the highest turnout of our citizens,” she said.
