Passenger travelled from Dunhuang to Georgia placed in isolation unit

Georgian passenger travelled from the Chinese city of Dunhuang to Georgia via Geneva-Turkey flight, was placed in the isolation unit, the head of the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia stated.

“Through the thermal screening at the Tbilisi International Airport, the passenger found to have body temperature. This incident is not considered as a possible case of the novel coronavirus,” Ezugbaia stressed.

The head of the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital said Georgian passenger worked as a teacher in the Chinese city of Dunhuang (1000 km from Wuhan).

Currently, three patients remain in the isolation ward at the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital. Doctors say they are not being examined for possible symptoms of coronavirus, but for the prevention. Their test samples have already been sent to the Netherlands. The results will likely be known on Tuesday.

At least 305 people died from the coronavirus, 14 300 are infected.
