Mamuka Bakhtadze: Decision on cannabis cultivation should be reached on the basis of a broad public consensus

The kind of decision, such as the cultivation of cannabis, is not be taken by the administrative procedure, it is not the handwriting of our team, it should be reached on the basis of a broad public consensus, – Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze responded to the question of the journalists.

The head of the government notes that the government has a very responsible approach toward this issue.

“The decision of the Constitutional Court created a new reality and the first thing to do was, of course, to introduce new regulations on consumption.

I would like to say with full responsibility that the draft law prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs is one of the toughest among the practices in other developed countries.

As for cultivation, we have explained our arguments. We are eager to see this issue as a result of a broad consensus. We are ready for consultation”, – Prime Minister said.
