EU Ambassador: Signing the agreement turns a new chapter

“Today is a truly remarkable moment, I could say an emotional moment for me after four months of facilitation of the talks and two months of mediation under the supervision and leadership of President Michel and working together with his personal envoy Christian Danielsson”, EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell stated at the EU-backed deal singing ceremony at the Orbeliani Palace on Monday.

According to the Ambassador, the current agreement is crucial for the country.

“I truly believe it is not the end of the story but the beginning of turning to the next chapter. The parliament can start working together toward the stated aims that are part of this agreement. I believe this agreement marks a fundamental point. Thank you so much again for having the honour of working together with all of you,” Carl Hartzell stated.

The Georgian political parties have signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace tonight.  European Council President Charles Michel has joined the event virtually.
