UNM Chair: Georgia cannot be freed if democratic forces fight each other
“Don’t try to see Misha [jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili] everywhere. Misha has been a prisoner of Putin for four years and wants to free this country from Putin’s slaves. This cannot be achieved by democratic forces fighting against each other,” says Tina Bokuchava, chairwoman of the United National Movement party, in response to a post by one of the leaders of the Federalists, Tamar Chergoleishvili.
According to Bokuchava, Mikheil Saakashvili is sacrificing his freedom and life to liberate the country from Putin’s influence.
“Don’t try to see Misha everywhere. Misha has been a prisoner of Putin for four years and wants only one thing: to free this country from Putin’s slaves. This is what he is sacrificing his freedom and life for. This cannot be achieved by democratic forces fighting each other,” Bokuchava wrote.
One of the leaders of the Federalists, Tamar Chergoleishvili, wrote on social media: “In fact, Burchuladze is a ‘puppet’ of Misha and is using him, along with other odious figures, to disrupt any unity where Misha is not at the centre. This clownery serves that purpose.”
The leader of the Rustaveli Avenue movement, Paata Burchuladze, stated that October 4 will not simply be a protest date, but a day of historic victory.
