Peter Magyar did what, unfortunately, we have not been able to do so far: he showed the Hungarian people that he was not, in reality, the “Antichrist” or an infidel, nor a fighter against traditional values, but rather that this image better fit Orbán,” said Tina Bokuchava, chairwoman of the United National Movement.

According to Bokuchava, Georgian Dream presents itself as a force that protects language, homeland, and faith, while in reality, she believes, Georgia’s national identity is being undermined in multiple ways.

Tina Bokuchava also said that there may be a problem with the opposition’s common message, arguing that the opposition is not effectively entering this “arena” and is not showing Georgian citizens that it is not godless or hostile to traditional values.

“We are not sufficiently present in this space. National identity, values, language, and faith have been monopolized, while we are not effectively communicating with citizens on these topics,” she said.

Bokuchava emphasized that political communication around identity, culture, and religion plays a crucial role in public perception and argued that opposition forces must respond more actively in this area.
