“Today, March 31, we once again affirm that Georgia’s choice is freedom,” Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, said in a statement circulated by the party’s press service.

“Today, March 31, we once again affirm that Georgia’s choice is freedom! 34 years ago, on this day, the Georgian people unanimously declared: Yes, we are an independent country! This was a choice in favour of dignity, freedom, and independence. This was a victory we achieved through unity!

Today, 34 years later, the same forces are trying to revise our choices. They still want Georgia to remain isolated, to become weakened, to sink into corruption, poverty, and chaos. They continue trying to halt Georgia’s progress through violence and repression. But our path leads to Europe! Our future is a secure, strong, developed, protected, and united Georgia! Georgia will win this fight again! Because Georgia stands united again! Because freedom never loses!

Today, March 31, let us go out and again demonstrate our strength, unity, and belief in victory! Let us make everyone hear that Georgia will never return to the past! We are moving forward – toward victory! Long live freedom! Long live Georgia!” Giorgi Vashadze’s statement reads.
