Strategy Aghmashenebeli's Manjgaladze: Regime adopts FARA due to failed prior law
“Let me remind you, we have two choices: the so-called Russian law and FARA. They claimed FARA was so terrible we couldn’t accept it, yet now they aim to adopt it because the law they previously enacted didn’t work,” Paata Manjgaladze, one of the leaders of Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, stated.
He emphasized that the ruling team’s earlier legislation has failed to produce results, adding, “Now they’re talking nonsense, saying the enforcement of a certain article of FARA was suspended in America because we initiated it. The European Union completely reconsidered adopting FARA because we want to adopt a similar version in Georgia. The so-called Russian law didn’t work – legitimate non-governmental organizations didn’t register at all,” Manjgaladze stated.
