Speaker asks USAID when they discovered incorrect PVT results

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili called on USAID on Friday to “honestly answer the question of when they discovered that the results of the parallel vote tabulation (PVT) were incorrect and why they concealed this information from the Georgian people.”

Papuashvili stressed, “This question must be answered.”

“Once again, I will remind the public that, despite my previous statement, USAID did not provide an explanation on this issue.

Unfortunately, this is not their first scandal. When ISFED revealed bogus PVT data in 2020, its then-head, Elene Nizharadze, confessed that its donor, USAID, was aware of the information a month before it was officially disclosed.

If this is true, the question is simple: did USAID and the Embassy know about it? If so, why did they hide this information from Georgian citizens?” he added.
