Social media video of Giorgi Gakharia verbally abused and egged at Tbilisi airport

Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, was subjected to verbal abuse and pelted with eggs at the Tbilisi airport.

A video of the incident, widely circulated on social media, depicts Gakharia being accosted with insults, including accusations of being an “unprincipled person, an agent, and a traitor.”

The Gakharia for Georgia party released a statement following the incident, alleging that Gakharia and Elguja Khokrishvili were confronted by a “pre-organized ‘special group'” upon their arrival in Tbilisi from the Munich Security Conference.
