The situation in the occupied territories is very alarming in terms of violation of the rights of ethnic Georgians as well as Abkhazians, in terms of maintaining their distinctiveness, it concerns to Ossetians as well, –  Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at the extraordinary session of parliament today.

“Unfortunately, we have an unsolved biggest wound that our country has – this is a locked, fatal circle on which we are walking. Let’s start making steps to solve this problem for our future generations, including generations of Abkhazians and Ossetians”, – Kvirikashvili said.

“Believe me, each meeting with our partners, each of our steps starts and ends with this problem. We are working actively, often behind the scenes with our strategic partners, in order to take effective steps and get tangible results and activate the existing formats, as well as to introduce the tools that will allow us to protect the interests of our population at the occupied territories of Georgia and take steps to restore the confidence” – Prime Minister said.

According to PM, in the nearest future State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equity  Ketevan Tsikhelashvili will present a new package worked out by the Government, which aims to build confidence and activate economic flow.

“We should be initiators in taking these steps, of course, the Georgian-Russian dimension was main in this conflict, but we should not ignore the Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Ossetian dimensions of conflict”,  – kvirikashvili said.
