PM says Georgia pursues peace instead of hatred incited from outside the country

“We want a peaceful country; we want peace in this country. This is the order of society, and we act in accordance with the order of society,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The PM noted that the Department established to fight against hate speech has a significant task.

“We were being subjected to hatred and aggression from the outside, which is not a characteristic phenomenon of Georgian culture. We should counter what is not organic to us. We do not want someone from outside to incite hatred and aggression. This is the function of this department.

Therefore, we view the work of this department with great optimism and are confident that its activities will yield concrete results. We will counter hatred and aggression in the future, which is artificially incited from abroad.

One of the main goals of adopting the Transparency Law was precisely this: to prevent hatred. We want a peaceful country; we want peace in this country. This is the order of society, and we act in accordance with the order of society,” he said.
