Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze met with Georgia’s new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Slovakia, Ethiopia, and Ireland.
Konstantine Kvachakidze has been appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Slovak Republic, Gia Macharadze to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and Sophie Katsarava to Ireland.
According to the government’s press office, the Prime Minister wished success to the diplomats in their future endeavors.
“Since 2020, Konstantine Kvachakidze has held different positions in the Foreign Ministry’s Central Office and Georgia’s diplomatic missions. Prior to his appointment to the Slovak Republic, he served as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Cyprus, while earlier holding the post of Deputy Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe.
Since 1996, Gia Macharadze has held different positions in Georgia’s Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions. In 2022, he was appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Since 2020, Sophie Katsarava held the position of Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, while holding the positions of Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization in 2021-2024. In 2016-2019, she served as Member of the Georgian Parliament and Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee. Sophie Katsarava has been awarded the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary,” the press office noted.
