PM: Enhanced cooperation with Uzbekistan key to Georgia’s transit role
One of our key priorities is to enhance Georgia’s role as a connecting and transit hub, with promising cooperation underway with Uzbekistan, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists during his visit to Uzbekistan.
According to the Prime Minister, meetings were held with the chairmen of both chambers of parliament, while discussions with the president and prime minister are scheduled for tomorrow.
“Our visit to Uzbekistan is of great importance for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Today, we met with the chairmen of both chambers of parliament, and tomorrow we will hold meetings with the president and prime minister. Discussions will cover all areas of cooperation, including political and economic relations. There is significant potential for expanding economic cooperation, especially in trade, investment, and transit functions, which are crucial for both countries. We look forward to exploring these opportunities with our Uzbek partners,” said Kobakhidze.
