PM joins Independence Day celebrations across Georgia’s regions

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, attended events dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day in several regions of the country.

The Prime Minister, together with Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Bodies Mamuka Mdinaradze and Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili, visited Gori, where he inspected equipment and exhibition spaces presented by law enforcement agencies and congratulated citizens gathered for the celebrations.

Events organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs included exhibitions of technical equipment, as well as educational, children’s, and cultural activities, alongside a fair of local products. Military equipment was also displayed by the Ministry of Defense, which was visited by the Prime Minister together with Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani.

Celebrations continued throughout the day in Gori.

The Prime Minister also visited Ozurgeti, where he inspected exhibitions of higher education institutions and vocational schools and reviewed innovative projects by students of Kutaisi International University.

At 17:10, the symbolic time of Georgia’s declaration of independence, the national anthem was performed, attended by the Prime Minister and members of the government.

In Ozurgeti, events included educational activities, exhibitions of vocational institutions, a fair of local entrepreneurs, and children’s entertainment programs, along with displays of military equipment.

The Prime Minister also congratulated the population of Poti on Independence Day while attending events there with senior government officials.

In Poti, various institutions, including the Agency of Protected Areas and the Batumi State Maritime Academy, presented educational and recreational activities. Military equipment was exhibited, and visitors participated in maritime-themed educational programs.

The celebrations concluded with a gala concert.
