PM: Georgia–Azerbaijan agreements mark landmark step in economic and energy cooperation

The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, said that recently signed agreements between Georgia and Azerbaijan represent “milestone” developments in bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economic and energy cooperation.

Speaking to journalists in Baku, Kobakhidze said the agreements are linked to the deepening of economic and energy partnerships, including gas imports and transit arrangements.

“The agreements that have been signed are also important. These are landmark agreements in our relations, related to the deepening of economic and energy partnership. These agreements are related to gas import and transit. It is especially worth emphasizing that the 20-year agreement on social gas has been extended for 20 years. A new agreement has been signed for this purpose, and this will be of particular importance for the energy security of our country,” he declared.
