November 27 declared as Mourning Day

November 27, 2017, has been declared as Mourning Day at the decision of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Georgian government.

“Georgian government and population of the country will be mourning regarding victims of Leogrand Hotel fire in Batumi city of Adjara region. State flags will be lowered across Georgia’s territory,” reads the statement of Governmental Administration.

Eleven people died as a result of the fire, which broke out last evening at 5-star Leogrand Hotel in Batumi. Ten people are citizens of Georgia, one – Iran. More than 100 people were evacuated from the building.
