Multifunctional park to be developed in Kutaisi

A modern multifunctional park will be developed in Kutaisi, adjacent to the former Parliament building.

According to the government administration, Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, visited the site of the planned construction. The Minister of Infrastructure, Revaz Sokhadze, briefed the Prime Minister of Georgia on the upcoming works.

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has already announced a design competition for the park project.

“The park will cover an area of approximately 70 hectares and will feature children’s play zones, sports fields and exercise areas, a network of pedestrian and cycling paths, cultural and educational spaces, an open-air stage, pavilions and event grounds. The park will also include an information centre, pergolas, chess tables, decorative lakes and fountains.

The project also envisages the installation of outdoor lighting, an irrigation system, as well as security and video surveillance infrastructure. The new space will be fully adapted for persons with special needs,” the government administration said in a statement.
