Sakpatenti training centre to be based in historic former parliament building in Kutaisi

Soso Giorgadze, Chairperson of LEPL National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, announced during his address to the European Integration Committee that the Sakpatenti Training Centre will be housed in the historic former parliament building in Kutaisi.

He explained that, as part of efforts to modernise the infrastructure, renovation works are already underway within the building.

“The law requires that patent attorney examinations be held at regular intervals, and that continuing education is an essential and mandatory part of the process. Sakpatenti is actively working to meet these requirements, with renovation works underway to convert the former parliament building into a modern training centre, complete with fully upgraded infrastructure. This facility will cater to both examinations and continuing education.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organisation, we are implementing several joint projects, which will enable us to host international-level training sessions and seminars right here in Georgia. Some of these events are already taking place in various formats,” Soso Giorgadze stated.
