Georgia’s PM Irakli Kobakhidze inspected the ongoing works for the development of the Kutaisi Technology Hub, the government administration reported.
The Technology Hub will be located in the former Parliament building. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, provided the Prime Minister of Georgia with information about the project.
According to the press release, works on the external infrastructure have been completed so far, including the construction of the access road from the Technopark entrance, the square, landscaping, outdoor lighting and installation of a green fence. Irrigation system installation is underway, and further landscaping of the area is planned.
Within the framework of the project, an industrial innovations laboratory, a 3D printing lab, as well as electronics, robotics, drone and other experimental laboratories for students and startups will be established.
For the Technology Hub, Georgia’s first metal 3D printer has been procured. This will enable startups, engineers and students to create complex, high-precision components from metal.
