Georgia and Kazakhstan sign Strategic Partnership Agreement
A formal Strategic Partnership Agreement has been signed between Georgia and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, have signed a joint declaration officially elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
Following expanded bilateral talks between cabinet members of both governments, various ministries signed memoranda of understanding to boost cooperation in the fields of culture, information technology, and tourism.
“We reaffirmed the strong partnership between Georgia and Kazakhstan with the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between our countries, which will open a new chapter in our bilateral relations,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze shared on X (formerly Twitter).
During the expanded-format meeting, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised Georgia’s recent trajectory, addressing Prime Minister Kobakhidze directly:
“I must commend the outstanding progress Georgia has achieved in recent years. Your resolute leadership enables Georgia to successfully navigate complex challenges while maintaining a steady and stable course of development.”
The Kazakh President emphasised that signing the strategic partnership document is a historic decision that serves the fundamental interests of both the Georgian and Kazakh peoples.
“This is a truly historic decision that serves the core interests of our peoples and lays a strong foundation for the further expansion of cooperation between our countries. It is a very significant outcome of your visit to Kazakhstan and a meaningful step forward in our cooperation,” President Tokayev concluded.
