Wizz Air implements first direct flight from Lyon to Kutaisi

Wizz Air has inaugurated its first direct scheduled flight from Lyon to Kutaisi, with the inaugural flight carrying 86 passengers.

Passengers were welcomed in a ceremonial setting at Kutaisi International Airport, where they received gifts to mark the occasion.

The new route, launched on June 3, connects Kutaisi International Airport with Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport. Lyon is now the third French city to be directly linked to Georgia, following Paris and Nice.

According to the United Airports of Georgia, flights on this route will operate twice weekly—on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The introduction of this route is expected to bolster tourism by attracting more visitors from France.

Currently, Wizz Air offers flights from Kutaisi to 24 destinations across 14 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
