Members of Citizens and Lelo parties physically assaulted in Batumi

Members of Citizens and Lelo parties have been physically assaulted at so-called Hopa Market in Batumi, Adjara region.

The oppositional representatives were distributing invitations and fliers to a large-scale protest planned for November 8 in Tbilisi.

The administration said that appearance of oppositional activists caused dissatisfaction among some traders who were supporters of Georgian Dream.

Genri Dolidze, a member of Citizens party, who received minor injuries, said that the police had done nothing to stop the physical conflict. The police later discharged the tension and asked the activities to leave the territory.
