Lelo members meet diplomatic corps

Members of the opposition Lelo party held a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.

The main topic of discussion was the detention of Lelo leaders Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.

The meeting took place at the party’s office and included Davit Usupashvili, Tazo Datunashvili, Giorgi Sioridze, and Saba Buadze.

The court sentenced Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze to eight months in prison for failing to comply with the request of the parliamentary temporary investigative commission. They were also banned from holding office for two years. Both were arrested on June 23 following the court’s decision.
