For Georgia's Parulava: Lelo's statement requires greater clarification: specific plan is essential
“Lelo’s statement needs further clarification, particularly beyond merely calling on the parties to engage in dialogue in general. While dialogue is indeed necessary, it must be accompanied by a concrete plan,” stated MP Giga Parulava, member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
According to Parulava, this process requires greater clarity.
“We believe that more transparency is essential, specifically, clarity on who should be involved, on which issues, and through whose mediation the dialogue should proceed. Currently, the prerequisites for initiating dialogue from the Georgian Dream side are not clearly apparent. Nevertheless, all parties must face reality, as dialogue will inevitably occur at the right time and with the participation of the appropriate actors, prioritising the interests of the people and the nation.
Lelo’s statement needs more clarification, particularly beyond merely calling on the parties to engage in dialogue. While dialogue is necessary, they must also outline a specific plan. This entire process requires greater transparency. They should clarify their position further; perhaps there is no detailed plan at present,” Parulava remarked.
As a reminder, on March 15, following a meeting of the party’s leadership council, Lelo–Strong Georgia issued a statement emphasising the need to commence responsible political negotiations between Georgian Dream and opposition parties that secured the support of the majority of the Georgian electorate in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
