Kobuleti Mayor: Restoration efforts underway

Intense snowfall that lasted for six days caused significant disruptions in Kobuleti municipality. All relevant agencies were actively involved in relief efforts, maintaining constant communication with the residents, Kobuleti Mayor Levan Zoidze informed reporters.

According to him, a special headquarters and hotline were established to ensure that every request received prompt attention.

“Road clearance operations are ongoing, with the internal rural roads being cleared in stages. Electricity has been restored to most of the 10,000 affected subscribers, with approximately 900 households still awaiting reconnection. The natural gas supply remains disrupted for around 900 subscribers, but restoration efforts are in progress,” the Kobuleti Mayor stated.

He also noted that the heavy snowfall had damaged over 70 houses, prompting the relocation of affected residents to safety. The disaster response commission will assess the damages and consider compensation for those impacted.
