Georgian Parliament elects new Chairman

Georgian lawmakers elected Kakha Kuchava as Parliament Speaker at the plenary session with 86 votes pro and six votes con.

“We should reinforce the trust of our international partners together. Georgia will always stay committed to the chosen course and show the desirable result. Our country faces many challenges. Georgia’s territorial integrity should be restored that needs joint efforts with the use of all available platforms. Ending the political polarization will contribute to effectively cope with the faced challenges and make crucial decisions over vital issues,” Kuchava said.

Kakha Kuchava replaced Archil Talakvadze on the post. Former Chairman of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze, resigned on April 24.
