GD Chair believes President not interested in country, Constitution

“It is obvious that the so-called President is not interested in our Constitution, the country,” said Irakli Garibashvili, Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

According to the GD Chair, President Salome Zourabichvili was brought up in France and she does not consider herself being Georgian.

“She may go to France or stay here in Georgian politics. Possibly, she wants to try her forces. I remind society that before our team nominated her to the post of President, her political rating was 1 per cent. What has she done for our country, for the European path, and what claims does she have? If Georgia achieved something, it is the merit of our team: the Association Agreement, visa-free travel, free trade, and candidate status. The political games do not represent a constructive attitude,” he said.
