Interior Ministry prepares changes to law to hire police officers without special competition
The Georgian Interior Minister will have the authority to hire police officers without special competition as the key changes to the “Police Law” were presented at today’s Bureau session.
The Minister can now define its recruitment rules and conditions. Currently, police hiring requires special competition.
“With military service moving exclusively to the Defense Ministry by January 1, 2025, police recruitment needs modification.
The proposed amendments were submitted to parliament as part of a legislative package addressing pyrotechnic import and sales regulations,” according to the proposed changes.
